White Linen Night 2016

It’s high summer in Houston, and that means it’s almost time for the annual White Linen Night celebration. This year’s event will take place Saturday of next week, on August 6th, with special events scheduled for dozens of spots all over the Heights. Don your coolest, breeziest white ensemble and get ready to celebrate!

White Linen events will be taking place all over 19th Street from Shepherd to Yale, on White Oak Boulevard, and up and down Heights Boulevard, Yale, and Studewood. Check out works from local artists, browse interesting boutiques, and sample lots of delicious food, sweets, and drinks from local restaurants and food trucks. Nearly every small business in the Heights will have extended hours to accommodate White Linen Night crowds. In case it’s your first time, there WILL be crowds. Despite the often oppressive heat, White Linen Night brings nearly everyone in the Heights outdoors to celebrate the peak of summer and mingle with the neighbors. White Oak Boulevard tends to be a younger adult crowd and events there are more bar-centric, due to the proliferation of nightlife in the area, while 19th Street is more laid back and family-friendly. Either way, it’s sure to be a great time!

Tickets are not required- this is a free, open event. Parking and seating can be hard to come by, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk or stand for a good portion of the evening.
