Mozelle’s Cajun Seafood Market

Mozelle’s Cajun Seafood Market recently opened on Heights Boulevard south of I-10, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re a fan of Cajun cuisine. Part seafood market and part takeout joint, Mozelle’s offers seafood fresh (sometimes live!), frozen, or cooked, as well as non-fishy items like boudin, hot sausages, homemade banana pudding, and freshly prepared poboy sandwiches. If you’re in the mood for Cajun cooking, be sure to try the jambalaya and seafood gumbo.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any place to sit down and eat, so you’ll be taking your meal to go. While we would like to be able to enjoy the food on-site, space doesn’t really allow for a dining area, so we will have to be content to chow down at home. Prices are reasonable, and you can order online so your meal is ready for you when you arrive. We’re partial to the crawfish etouffee, personally, but the menu has a wide selection of items sure to please even pickier eaters.
