Oak Forest will soon be enjoying heightened security protection provided by S.E.A.L.S, a private security firm. The Oak Forest Homeowners Association will sign a one-year contract with the firm at a meeting at 5:30 on October 28th at Stevens Elementary. S.E.A.L.S will start patrols on November 1 with three officers working 10 yours a day, five days a week. To pay for the security patrol service, the Oak Forest HOA raised $216,280 from donations and voluntary fees from residents and local businesses, exceeding their original goal of $168,000. The Taste of Oak Forest Wine Extravaganza held September 28 raised another $27,311, which will go toward the security program and administrative costs of maintaining it. Residents of Oak Forest will certainly be able to sleep better knowing that S.E.A.L.S is on duty keeping the streets safe.
