This Saturday, November 16, the Untapped beer festival will be taking place at Discovery Green. Even those who aren’t big beer drinkers will want to come, since this event is half beer fest, half Indie music festival. In addition to over 200 unique brews representing 70 breweries, Untapped will feature performances by The Walkmen, Heartless Bastards, Big Black Delta, The Tontons, Wild Moccasins, The Suffers, and Walker Lukens. Tickets start at $25 and many ticket packages include beer samples and a souvenir tasting cup. Local breweries Karbach and St. Arnold will be represented at the festival, but there will also be many other familiar names from as far away as Belgium, including Abita, Sierra Nevada, Real Ale, Shiner, and even several hard cider manufacturers for those who can’t stomach regular beer. Please be aware that the most inexpensive general admission tickets don’t include beer samples, although general admission will get you into the festival and concerts and allow you to purchase full-sized beers. To get beer tastings, you’ll want to buy an aptly-named beer ticket or VIP ticket. Food trucks will be on site to provide munchies to hungry festival-goers. Pre-sale tickets are no longer available but tickets can still be bought at the gate.
