It’s mid-August in Houston, and you know what that means! Crawfish boil season is over, snow-cone stand employees are working overtime, the asphalt on the street is so hot it might just melt the soles right off your shoes- and it’s time to make the annual trek to the store to stock up on next year’s school supply essentials. With such an array of school “necessities” in stock, it can be a little tricky to narrow down what’s a must-have and what’s just over the top. (Really? Locker chandeliers?) Although your tween daughter might try to convince you that she absolutely can’t show up for her first day of 5th grade sans binder emblazoned with Justin Bieber’s smirking face, stand strong! We’ve taken all the guess work out of school shopping and gathered the official supply lists from several Heights-area elementary schools. Happy shopping!
