The Chicken Ranch Opening Momentarily

The Chicken Ranch Opening Momentarily

The much-anticipated Chicken Ranch restaurant will open its doors soon in the former home of Bellissimo Ristorante on North Main. The upscale fried chicken joint is the brainchild of Joshua Martinez, formerly of Goro & Gun, and business partner Paul Sedillo.

Named after the infamous bordello in La Grange (which also inspired the Broadway musical and film “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”), The Chicken Ranch will feature what is said to be the best fried chicken in the city and a host of delicious sides like fried okra, mac and cheese, and dirty rice.

Most of the dish names are inspired by the musical and Dolly Parton vehicle, like the Dolly Special, which includes two breasts, a side, and a biscuit, for $9. Some items are instead named after late, great country singers. Of course, no Chicken Ranch-themed restaurant would be complete without a velvet painting of Marvin Zindler, who busted the infamous house of ill repute back in the 1970’s. Not to worry- The Chicken Ranch has that under control.

Due to open today, The Chicken Ranch was struck by unfortunate equipment problems and had to delay for until tomorrow, November 12 at 11:00. Martinez has built up quite a cult following at his previous positions, so expect a crowd. The restaurant is located at 6400 N. Main.
