The inaugural Sunday Streets HTX will take place this Sunday, April 6 from 11:00-3:00 on White Oak Drive from Heights Blvd to Fulton. Sunday Streets aims to promote and improve the health of Houstonians by closing certain streets to vehicle traffic so that families have the chance to bike, walk, and be physically active in that space. Sunday Streets will take place in various locations around the city, and the White Oak location was chosen for the kick-off of the series. In addition to opening up free space for exercise, the White Oak location will have arts and crafts vendors, free samples of food from vendors like Gelazzi gelato and Salinas Salsas, and representatives on site from many local businesses. Pets are welcome at the family-friendly event, but the organizers remind attendees to please be considerate and pick up after your pooch. Don’t forget to bring your sunscreen and join a thousand or so of your closest neighbors for this fun-filled weekend afternoon out!
