Heights Brunch Just Got An Upgrade With Snooze

Nothing beats a relaxing weekend brunch, and the brunch scene in the Heights just got a major upgrade. Snooze an A.M. Eatery,  an all-day breakfast chain based in Denver, opened its fourth Houston location this morning, to the delight of hungry, waffle-loving Houstonians.

The hugely popular breakfast concept attracts long lines, but with additional locations opening this year, including the Heights outpost and one in Cinco Ranch in Katy, the wait times should be more manageable. If you want to beat the crowds, show up earlier, before the brunch rush hits. You might be surrounded by families with early-bird small children, but that’s a small price to pay for pancakes. There are no reservations and tables are first-come, first served.

In addition to pancakes, waffles, and other carb-forward favorites, Snooze has a great selection of egg dishes, South of the Border inspired options, and all kinds of Benedict dishes. We love the breakfast pot pie, Steak+Eggs Benny, and pineapple upside down pancakes, but you really can’t go wrong. Every dish that passed by the table during our visit looked and smelled delicious! There’s even a “light as a feather” menu of healthy options. Quinoa breakfast bowl, anyone?

Of course, no brunch experience would be complete without a little hair of the dog. Opt for a traditional mimosa or bloody Mary, or sample one of the specialty flavors, spiked coffees, or seasonal brunch cocktails. The Bangkok bloody Mary, made with Sriracha, lime, cilantro, and basil, gets our vote.

And check out their awesome industrial digs:

While Snooze serves only breakfast foods, the restaurant stays open until past lunch time, so there’s not rush to get there bright and early. Visit anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Snooze is located at 718A West 18th Street.
