Halloween is almost here, and that means it’s time for pumpkin spice everything, trick or treating, and the Travis Elementary Monster Bash! Circa Real Estate’s broker/owner Mary Wassef is very proud to be one of the sponsors of this year’s carnival, which is organized and run by parent and teacher volunteers and goes to support the school. A full 80% of the proceeds go directly into the classroom, with the rest going toward event expenses.
What is Monster Bash?
With games, rides, and more candy than you can shake a stick at, the Fall Carnival is fun for the whole family. In addition to raising money to support the school, the carnival is a great Halloween activity for those with kids too young to stay out late trick or treating or who are unable to celebrate on a weeknight. The 2017 Monster Bash will take place Saturday, October 28th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Monster Bash admission is free and you can purchase “monster bucks” or wristbands for carnival games at the door to skip the lines. Monster bucks can be used for food, drinks, and activities and a book of 20 costs only $10. Wrist bands for unlimited carnival games are $25 and don’t include food or drinks, but allow kids to play all of the games as many times as they want.

Scarecrow Auction
Feeling creative? There will be a scarecrow auction, so get to the craft store, make the cutest or spookiest scarecrow you can come up with, and submit it for the charity scarecrow auction. If you’re not the artsy-crafty type, no problem! Come bid on a scarecrow to decorate your front porch this Halloween. Scarecrows must be turned in to the school between October 23-25 to be part of the auction. Bidding starts October 26 and closes the during the carnival.
Costume Boo-tique
If you’ve got gently-used Halloween costumes lying around, please drop them off at Travis Elementary by October 25 so they can be given a new life in the Costume Boo-tique. During the Carnival families can shop or swap costumes at the Boo-tique, just in time for Halloween. While your child may have outgrown their love of Ninja Turtles or Dora the Explorer, there’s sure to be another child who will be thrilled to wear that costume and grateful parents who will appreciate not paying full price at a costume store.
