Thanksgiving Out In The Heights

Uh oh. You just moved, the turkey burned, you don’t have family in town, or you don’t feel like cooking this week. Or, all of the above. Don’t worry, we have you taken care of this Thanksgiving.

While most in the Heights will be closed this Thursday for Thanksgiving, there are a few places that will be staying open to accommodate those who’d rather spend the day dining out:

B&B Butchers
B&B will be open from 11:00am to 8:00pm, serving items from their regular dinner menu and a special holiday four-course prix fixe menu. The prix fixe option will run you $55 for adults and $20 for kids under 12. The Thanksgiving menu includes choice of butternut squash soup or salad, prime rib or turkey, three vegetable sides, and a dessert. You can also pick up traditional Thanksgiving dishes to go if you prefer to eat at home (including pie, as seen in the photo here). B&B Butchers is located at 1814 Washington Ave.

Federal American Grill
Open from 11:00am to 3:00pm, the Federal American Grill will offer a Thanksgiving menu of turkey or ham with all the traditional trimmings, including pumpkin or pecan pie for dessert. You can also choose from salmon, chicken, or beef short ribs if you aren’t in the mood for the standard Thanksgiving fare. Adults receive the full multi-course meal for $48 and kids under 12 eat for $15. A 20% gratuity will be added to all checks to make working over a holiday worth the staff’s while. Federal Grill is located at 510 Shepherd Drive.

The Rainbow Lodge
If you’re looking for something a little different than the traditional turkey and sweet potatoes, look no further than Rainbow Lodge. Although they are also serving traditional Thanksgiving foods, the menu offers more variety than other Thanksgiving dining options. Entrees include rainbow trout sautéed with pecan brown butter, grilled venison medallions, and beef or buffalo tenderloin, in addition to the traditional turkey with dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. They’ll also be serving Thanksgiving “snack packs” to go in the evening at a bargain price of $5, which include just enough turkey, dressing, and gravy for a sandwich. The Rainbow Lodge is open from 11:15am to 7:30pm, and the Thanksgiving menu costs $58 per person. It is located 2011 Ella.

Whether you spend the Thanksgiving holiday dining out or cooking at home, we hope it’s a joyous one filled with family, friends, good food, and appreciation for the many blessings in life. Happy Thanksgiving from the Circa family to yours!
